Introduction |
Welcome
to Mark Sokolich Design.
Mark introduces himself to you, as a highly qualified and
experienced Jeweller-Designer-Goldsmith.
In 2011 he
celebrates 30 years of continuous work, in the New Zealand
Jewellery trade.
Career
In 1981 he began, by being apprenticed to
one of the largest Jewellery Manufacturing
companies in New Zealand. A nationally
recognized qualification was required by his
employer, with at least 3 years of study at
Technical Institute. Gemology, metallurgy,
metalwork, manufacturing systems, casting,
drawing and design, and trade standards,
were some of the subject requirements.
After 6 years,12,000 hours of training,
trade examinations and assessments, the NZ
Jewellery and Watchmakers Manufacturing
Trade Certificate was achieved. A trade
sponsored design award was won, for
excellence in Jewellery Design and
Manufacture. |

Throughout the 1980’s he worked as a Designer/Pattern Maker
in the Jewellery Industry. His designs and patterns were
turned into mass market production lines, for sale to the
global market - America, Europe, Asia, Australasia and the
Pacific Islands.
In May 1991 he established his own business “Mark Sokolich
Design” to extend his skills in high end jewellery design
and manufacture. A business that still successfully
continues today. Thousands of individual items have been
produced in that time.
A high proportion of work comes via word of mouth
recommendations. His work is widely admired by connoisseurs
of fine jewellery for distinctive design, clean lines,
excellent craftsmanship, attention to detail, and good value.
He offers jewellery making services to clients with many
different budgets and individual tastes.
He continues to go from strength to strength. In 2008, privileged to be asked for an interview by prominent NZ Television news programme. The story covered the romance of Valentine’s Day. An exquisite engagement ring of his design and a personal interview, led the 6 pm evening news.
Being the designer, jeweller, and business owner means that
Mark can accurately follow through any request, from the
original idea, to the end result. He strives for 100%
customer satisfaction and no less. Professional, polite, and
confidential service is guaranteed.
